Borghese Festivo Fuchsia

Hi hi! Tim Messenger! ...That's a Hot Fuzz quote, if you didn't know. If you haven't seen that movie, I highly recommend it. :D Anywho, today was my "first" day back to my last semester of college because of all the super snowy/icy business. We had cancelled classes Monday and Tuesday and really shouldn't have been in today till at least twelve to help prevent all the slips and falls that happened at Lander today... At least we've learned our lesson for tomorrow!

The nails I have today are Borghese Festivo Fuchsia, which is a very sparkly red raspberry shimmer that I'm quite fond of.

Borghese Festivo Fuchsia - two coats, sun

It's a lot more sparkly in real life. So pretty! That's my Liz Claiborne faux snake skin handbag in the background, too. :D Yay for animal prints!

That's all for me today, buds! Happy painting!

Del Sol Clearance and Coupon Code

Hello again! I wanted to do an update on Del Sol, the brand of polish that changes color in the sunlight. I recently got Calypso and Electrick from my boyfriend for Christmas, and they sure are pretty! I'll update on those later, but what I wanted to share with you now was a coupon code for the Del Sol website. The code is GIVEME5, and it will give you $5 off on their site.

Del Sol also has their holiday 3-pack of polishes including Ruby Slipper, Island Fever, and Heartbreaker on sale for just $5 as well as their Halloween polish Trick-or-Treat, so you can get either for just shipping.

Here's the holiday 3-pack, which I had to pick up :D

I hope this is useful for you! Happy painting!

Happy New Year! (and Zoya 3 Free Code!)

I know I'm a little late, but Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve to ring in the new year. :D I've really just been trying to enjoy myself this break after such a stressful semester. Seriously, out of the seven semesters in college I've had, that one was absolutely the toughest, but I came out of it well and this upcoming semester I get a bit of a break with some online classes and only two biology labs. Woo hoo!!! Also, another class I'm super excited about is Makeup and Mask Design! A theater elective for this biology major! This will be the only "just for fun" class I've ever taken, and I'm so glad I got to stay in it (there was a bit of a to-do about it because there weren't enough spots for all of the theater majors, but it's all straightened out now!). SO... I am EXTREMELY excited for this new semester... my last semester in college before I graduate!!!

AAAAAND... Nail polish. I got tons of polish over the break... and am probably about to head out right now and grab some more at CVS from their bi-annual cosmetics sale. Yay. :)

Also, don't forget to get your three free polishes from Zoya! Their code lasts until this Friday! (FB2011) I am sooooo excited for these and still need to narrow my list down!

I'm thinking... Evangeline, Cheri, and Crystal... Although I also have my eye on Carrie Ann, Roxy, and Mimi. I hope you get some wonderful polish! Make sure you jump on this offer by Friday!

Happy Painting!

Just a Little Sinful

Wow, sorry about all the long-time-no-see business; school has been stressful! Senior year in biology isn't a walk in the park, although I do try to take some time to myself to paint my nails and do other girlie things like shopping!!! It's been a bit extra stressful because I haven't had a car to drive myself around in until yesterday. It had been out of commission since September 2nd, our second day of school. I finally got everything fixed up with it and now it's all back in working order, thankfully! Anyways, on with the nails!

These super-bright nails are from last month, brought to you by Sinful Colors and Walgreen's! I love the Sinful Colors nail polishes I've gotten so far, and hopefully I'll continue this affair with them forever. So good!

Here is Sinful Colors - Love Nails at two coats. I would've used three if I weren't planning on layering it with glitter, which has become my weakness. I almost can't stop myself from layering everything with glitter.

And now, topped with a coat of Sinful Colors - Frenzy.

So pretty! I hope you enjoyed these!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Hello, hello! This is another manicure from the vault that I did in June for my early birthday/going away dinner with relatives before I went to Cornell for the summer. It was an early celebration for my 21st birthday (my birthday is on July 2nd), so I had to use Ruby Pumps! It's so pretty and glamorous; I absolutely love this polish! On with the pictures!

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

For a little extra flair, I decided to do a colored mani with black freehand tips using Pure Ice Black Rage.

I also did a pedicure like this as well, but I didn't get any photos of my toes. I'm not sure if I'd want to post them anyways!

I hope you enjoyed these as much as I enjoyed sharing them! See you nail enthusiasts next time!

The Start of My Nail Polish Adventures

Hello world! I've been inspired by all of these online blogs about nail polish to start one of my own. I've always loved nail polish and how beautiful and versatile it can be.

As a college student, I really almost completely stopped painting my nails, but with all of this new inspiration, I'm going to at least try to keep this up. I may not always have all the newest and up-to-date collections that are out there because of my college student budget, but I can at least keep everyone entertained with what I do have and hopefully some different nail art styles as I experiment.

Here is a manicure I did back in May or so. Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in The Real Teal and Deep Purple and Pure Ice Gold Mist.

Left Hand - Argyle

Right Hand - Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear The Real Teal for a base

Right Hand - Stripes!

I hope you enjoyed these! I actually liked the striped style more even though it was a bit simpler to do. I've always liked teal/purple combos, but for some reason they just blend together a bit too well where they meet up and you can't really see the defining line between them, as is the case in the argyle mani. That's why I decided to do the nice separating gold stripe on my right hand.

Well, thanks for joining me and I hope to see you around again soon!

XOXO,
The Clumsy Kiwi
